Hello! This week was a very unique one.
I went on another exchange with an Elder who serves in a walking area
around the temple. We found a new investigators that day for that area
and that was exciting. It's pretty easy to talk to people about the
church in that area because most who people who live there know or
have seen the temple and visitor center before.
So both our old Mission president and our new Mission president gave
us special permission to go camping with our branch in Payson Arizona
where the highest it got was a record for Arizona of 85 degrees and in
the 50s at night. We did tons of service for our branch members. The
reason why our Mission presidents let us go is because our Branch
president asked us to go and to build unity with the members. Asl
missionaries here thus far usually will serve in the deaf branch for 2
years and the deaf community here is a very tight group. If you're not
on a good side with the members it can be a lot harder to get work
from them. So this was an excellent opportunity to serve our branch.
It was good work and also fun. Our previous Mission president has been
letting the asl elders do this for the past 3 years and it's always
proven beneficial.
It will be an interesting week next week as Elder Jackson heads home
and I will be the only remaining asl missionary. We'll see what the
Lord has planned
Love and miss y'all!
