Hello everyone!
It is finally cool enough that we can roll our windows down. So glorious.
This past week almost the whole asl apartment received the mtc sickness that was brought by one of the new Elders. It wiped us all out. It's a total mess up in the cycle when you are a missionary and get sick. Weird. We are finally all overcoming it and getting back into the swing of things.
We helped a lady for sisters in our district move out. We had to clear out her entire house. It took 3 days to get everything cleared out and it was very enjoyable to see her and how happy and grateful she was to see it almost done. There also was a lot of scorpions and black widows around her property so that made it pretty intense too.
Our branch president gave a talk in church yesterday that really stuck out to me. The spirit taught me a lot. He said that prayer usually has 3 results. Your prayers are answered but sometimes the answer doesn't come exactly when you want it and that can be because Heavenly Father is giving you a test of faith. Or he may give you an answer that maybe you didn't expect or want. He explained it very simply like a child asking his parents for dessert instead of dinner but what does a parent say? The parent knows what is best for the child and what they need and when. The principle is the same with us and our Heavenly Father. He knows what we need and when we need it.
Another thought that I had which was at our past week ztm that a sister said in one of her trainings was when she talked about the atonement. She said something along the lines of "If you hurt someone then you're hurting Christ causing them and him more pain than they need" when we give someone more grief, pain, or sorrow than they need we are also giving it to the savior. It really has changed my life and perspective on how I treat others and made me desire to be kind to all the people around me to not cause them or the savior pain.
